Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Does this rear camera require its own separate memory card?
A: No, it does not. The Enigma Nextbase A16R feeds its video data stream directly to your main front-facing dash cam unit via the included connection cable. The front camera saves both the front and rear video feeds onto a single MicroSD card simultaneously, splitting them cleanly into separate folders.
Q: Can this camera be mounted on the exterior of the car near the license plate?
A: No. The A16R is strictly an interior-mount rear dash cam. It is engineered to sit inside your vehicle, attached to the upper interior glass of your rear windshield using its high-bond adhesive strip. This protects the camera lens from road grime, heavy rain, and vandalism.
Q: Will this camera work if my car has dark rear window tinting?
A: Yes, it will perform well through standard factory and aftermarket tints. However, extremely dark or mirror-finish tints can slightly reduce low-light exposure during night driving. The camera's auto-exposure algorithm compensates dynamically to pull as much light as possible.
Q: How long is the included connection cable? Will it fit a large SUV or minivan?
A: The unit comes with a generous, long-run extension cable (typically around 6 to 6.5 meters). This provides more than enough slack to route the wire cleanly hidden behind the roof headliner or floor trim panels of large sedans, mid-sized SUVs, station wagons, and minivans.
Q: Does the rear camera record inside the cabin or out the back window?
A: The lens is designed to look directly out of the back window to capture trailing traffic, license plates, and rear collisions. It does not record passenger cabin activity.
